Corry Buckwalter is a visual artist, educator and landscape designer based in Arlington, Massachusetts. Her artwork explores ecology, land use and botanical subjects. Corry is fascinated by places of convergence, disruption and possibility, such as rivers and urban infrastructure. Corry’s botanical watercolor work is influenced by her ink painting practice and the masterworks of the Japanese Edo period.

In 2023 her watercolor painting of the Hoosic River entitled View of MASS MoCA from the Brown Street Bridge was a winner in the Vacant Window Project Competition of the City of North Adams, MA. The small work will be enlarged and displayed in a vacant window on Main Street in North Adams. Her artwork has been chosen for juried shows at Arlington Center for the Arts and the Valley Artisan Market among many others.

In the studio classroom, Corry nurtures individual student creativity through inclusive and supportive instruction. Her belief that art-making is a catalyst for personal growth and community-building has grown from her extensive experience teaching adult learners of all abilities.
